Responsibilities:
Works in Immunization Clinic and on outreach activities providing children and adults with immunizations.
The RN provides technical nursing health information and counseling to clients as well as employees.
Coordinates the employee immunization program.
The incumbent is available to respond to vaccine equipment excursions after hours.
Work is performed under the direction of the Community Health Nurse Consultant.
An automobile is required for this position.
Works in immunization clinic and on outreach or Mobile Health Unit (which may occur before, during, or after work hours,) activities providing children and adults with immunizations or PPDs in accordance with the Standards of Childhood and Adult Immunization Practices, ACIP, and MCHD policies.
Reviews client's history to determine the accuracy and safety of the immunizations scheduled to be administered.
Assures timely entry of immunization data into the FLSHOTS and the Health Management System (HMS).
Educates the client regarding potential adverse reactions, provides required VIS and accurately completing required forms and data entry, to include if requested, religious exemptions.
Completes a daily vaccine inventory to assure accuracy and works to identify and correct errors, notifying supervisor immediately of incorrect inventory.
Maintains vaccine accountability within state requirements.
Completes temperature monitoring for vaccine storage equipment and works to identify and correct errors in compliance with Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Centers for Disease (CDC) guidelines.
As needed, provides counseling in accordance with MCHD protocols to clients having contact with a potentially rabid animal and administering rabies immunizations to adults and children.
Perform other related duties, such as, but not limited to, working where assigned at the time of a disaster.

Must have a State of Florida Registered Nurse Licensure in accordance with F.
